Surge Suppressors with Ground Transient Filter
Lowell's ACSP line of UL and ETL-listed, single and multi-circuit 20A surge suppressors is now shipping with an optional built-in Ground Transient Filter™ (GTF™). Designed for rack, wall or loadcenter applications, the compact assemblies divert surges from line to neutral and utilize advanced filtering to block potentially damaging high frequency transients that typically go ‘unchecked’ on the ground wire.
The GTF-equipped surge suppressors are perfect for safeguarding sensitive equipment such as that used in telecommunications, security, fire, AV, and data applications, as well as corporate boardroom electronics, business PCs and retail point-of-sale terminals. GTF-equipped versions are recommended for use anywhere power quality is compromised by high frequency transients induced from building service systems, office machines, diagnostic and testing equipment, manufacturing or offsite electrical disturbances.
Equally capable of protecting equipment from transient voltages, spikes, and surges, every ACSP Series product shields line-to-neutral, defeats surges up to 72,000A and meets GSA Grade A – Mode 1 – Class 1 endurance using Lowell's proprietary Triple Clamping Redundancy™ (TCR) technology.
Lowell’s ACSP single 20A circuit surge suppressor models with GTF feature two isolated ground duplex outlets on rotating 90° plates for easy front or side access in rear rackmount or surface applications. Outlet plates can also be replaced with blank 90° plates (also provided) to maintain a clean appearance in hard-wire applications.

Seismic Certification for Essential Facilities
Lowell cabinets receive additional SEISMIC CERTIFICATION FOR ESSENTIAL FACILITY installations
Lowell seismic (-S) series racks and cabinets are now qualified for use in essential facilities under the IBC 2003 Building Code that insures the survival and operability of critical equipment following a seismic event. This qualification is in addition to Lowell's existing seismic certifications for anchorage under the UBC & CBC Zones 1, 2, 3, 4 seismic design provisions that provide life-safety protection for building occupants from cabinets falling over or obstructing egress routes. This latest Seismic certification for essential facilities is important for the specifying and installation community as Lowell's (-S) seismic installation package provides all the necessary documentation required for submission. This means that a structural engineer will not be required to perform the seismic calculation for each cabinet and rack location in a building or to generate the quality assurance documents (seismic calculations, installation drawings, and quality assurance plan for special inspections) required by the applicable Authority having Jurisdiction or Building Official. Lowell's document package, certified by an outside professional engineering firm, satisfies the technical seismic and quality assurance requirements of the IBC for facilities with an Importance Factor of 1.5 and ground motion levels (spectral acceleration) up to 3.0 g's.
